11-year-old Zhang Luwen lost her hand in the 5/12 Sichuan earthquake. She was happy to hear the news that she will be able to receive a prosthetic hand at Shriners Hospital in Springfield, Massachusetts, as a sponsored child of HandReach's Children's Healing Initiative. This photo shows Luwen with Brecken outside the US Consulate in Chengdu just after she and her mother received their medical travel visas. HandReach has been working with 512children.org to arrange needed care for children who were injured or lost limbs in the Sichuan earthquake.
